All of us should have blogs!

2020-07-20

I started blogging in my mother tongue in mid-2002. I was actively writing in my old blog for many years. Then I stopped!

We all moved on, from BBSs and the type of Internet that was all about sharing ideas to one that is almost entirely commercial and controlled by a few centers of power. Like many, my writing became limited to social media (in my case, LinkedIn).

We don't own the platforms we use for most of our activities, and we don't have much control over them. The exposure we get for our writing depends on how well it matches the ultimate goal of that platform: to keep visitors engaged longer and show them more ads.

So, I suddenly got tired of the current Web ecosystem and decided to open this blog and write everything here. Let's see how it works out.
