Capturing beautiful scenes may be interesting, but it doesn't create anything new. A photograph can abstract thoughts or deep emotions from reality, connect with the audience, and start an inner dialogue.
At a certain point, when I was working on my photos, a simple mistake showed me a new level of abstraction that built a strong connection with my thoughts at the time, and the deliberate expansion of that led to this series of works. It started with manipulating the photos I had taken of mountains and ended with exploring an image captured from a favorite poem of mine.
